amp cutting out only while driving

ive had my amp for 2 years. Never cut out once. It's a sony 2200gtx. I was running 2 4 ohm subs in parallel. I just put new subs in that are 4 ohm dvc. They are bridged to 4 ohms. I used the correct terminals on the amp for bridging. The subs hit great while the car is on acc or idling. As soon as i start driving, the amp cuts out. I set the gain by the gain setting tutorial. Any ideas why it only cuts out while driving?

please, i dont need to get ragged about the brand. Its what i could afford. It ran fine for 2 years. I have a problem and im looking for some serious help.

All the connections look good. Obviously the first thing i checked. Thing is when its working it sounds as good as it ever did.

Sony amps are known to be 25% efficient and have many heat cut outs cuz there quality like the others stated above...**** ***.

Okay, but my amp isnt cutting out because of heat. It has something to do with driving. When i installed my subs i tested them in my driveway for a while. The system heated up but it never cut out. I can run it all i want in park. It dies within seconds while driving.

hmm, even if you have set your gains according to the tutorial, they might still be too high. My recommendation would be to turn the gain down and see if the problem goes away. If so, there's your answer.

does it go into protection? it should have a display light that will give u an idea of whats going on. it cant be pulling enough current to shut off.....gl

I cant tell because im driving when it happens. Ill try lowering the gain and see if it helps.

voltage?loose ground? old amp dieing of old age? make sure the connection on the subs are lose and hittin the basket or something.

lower the gain all the way down and i bet it will play all the time while your driving or your amp is about to become a paperweight soon buy not playing all the time
