amp cutting out at high volumes

so i sold my jl 300/4 and put back in my kenwood kac-8401 4 channel. now i am havin an issue where if i turn my hu up over 24(only goes to 33) the music will cut out and come back in a second or 2, during all of this my subs still are working. i dont think it has anything to do with the hu because that has worked fine all along. i am wondering if the rca inputs on the amp are going bad, or if it is a power supply issue when it has to draw more current. what do you guys think. i might get it fixed if it is something fixable. but i have no funds for a new amp as all the money i had to buy the nine.5 i wanted i had to use to fix my front suspension with.

Double check both positive and ground connections, make sure everything tight and clean. Sound like a voltage drop on amp power terminals. Is amp going into protect when it shuts down?

i have been meaning to double check everything just been busy but i did tighten them down tight when i installed it first. as far as the protect mode i have thought about that. tomorrow i was planing on checking all of this out

well i just went and played around with it, and when it starts cutting out i can see the blue light on the top flicker as if it is shutting off then turning back on. i had it throwing sparks also when i went to pull the power wire off it after i pulled the fuse for the power on it. so i am gonna go with power supply is going bad. i am watching one on ebay and if i can get that for cheap i will if not i will get this fixed.

Check your ground and make sure it is grounded well. I had the same problem, grounded it better and presto..fixed.

yeah i have been meaning to check on the ground block but in order to do that i have to pull the rear seat. and i have been to busy so this weekend i will check it out.

well its not a ground issue as i grounded it to another spot and it still does it.
