Amp cuts out

Hi I have a 1999 explorer and have recently installed a system in it. The amp is a kicker 1200 watt mono block and its powering 2 eclipse alluminum 10" subs. The problem i'm having is while driving for alittle over 15 min the amp goes into protect mode and cuts out. My power wire is 4g my ground is 8g and my remote and speaker wire is 12g. I also have an 80 amp inline fuse. I checked all the connections and there all good. What could be the problem??

i dont think ur ground should be smaller than ur power
