amp cuts out when bass actually hits

hes got some electrical issues somewhere......... make sure the battery is fully charged around 12 volts. If it gets anywhere near 6 or 7 volts it wont be able to handle loud bass or any bass at all. 6 or 7 volts is just an estimate. Maybe a bad battery.

You're trying to send too much current through your little 300 watt amp and it's going into protect to save itself a potentially fiery death. If you've ever blown a fuse while doing this, then you know for certain that you're drawing too much current. The reason that it does it at certain frequencies is that some notes will draw more power than others.

Set your gains properly, turn off the bass boost, level the equalizer, and don't expect more out of your setup than it can handle.
