amp cuts out when bass actually hits

my buddy has a MTX amp, and whenever you play something that bumps, the amp beeps and shuts off for +-10 seconds, never had this problem with my stuff and know it's kinda a newb question, but 'Put on' by Jeezy is an example of a song that cuts it out

possible problems??? i'm thinking over heating but he has a fan going directly into the amp

bumppp

i told him that his first mistake was an mtx amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

does he have stock electrical? his voltage might be dropping so much that his amp goes into protect, also, check his ground. i bet its loose. make sure you put a bolt through it, not self tapping screws.

idk about loose board, it does good to everything else except a few songs, another was independent by webbie

i'm kinda stumped on this, so loose board, bad ground, bad electrical??? grounds good and electrical never dims, has no problems... it's looking like a loose board but doesn't sound right

is the amp stable at the ohm load the sub is wired too? had an amp back in the day that was 2 ohm stable stereo but not mono. i ran it mono at 2 ohm and would play until songs with alot of bass or i turned it up too high. the protect light turn on when it cuts out?

he has it two channeled, one channel to each sub... that may be an issue... it's late but ima bridge it and wire it to the right ohms, vs. the two channel ohms and don't really know how that goes, or what his subs ohms are, but if i bridge it to mono i got all those ohms on lock

and it's only at high volumesss

well if you know how to wire up a sub mono then you know how to wire a sub up 2 channeled as well. just pretend ur wiring each sub up individually to a mono amp, one sub to each channel or bridge the amp like you said. just for reference i like to use this.

if you bridge it just make sure its stable at whatever ohm you chose. like i said thats where i ran into a problem. my amp was stable 2 ohm stereo but not mono.

WOOT FOR ME for being first on the impedence too low diagnosis! I am so smart, i am so smart, smrt, i mean smart. smart, smart, smart. (homer simpson in case you didnt know)

thats assuming im right.

cool cool, so lets say his subs are 4 ohm. wire each sub to 2 ohms in it's own chanel???

and if the subs are 2 ohms, wire them to 4 in its slot???

are the subs dvc or single vc? do you know exactly what amp were talking about and what subs for that matter
