Amp constantly goes out

I have an Infinity 1211a running 4 Infinity 12.1d subs...a 3 Farad Pyle Capacitor and an Orbital Battery. For some odd reason when the bass hits real hard, my subs just cut out. I turn the music down a bit and the subs come back on. I believe that my amp is clipping because I only have a 4 gauge power wire with an 100 amp midi fuse on it. I just bought a 200 anl fuse with the fuse holder. I plan to get an 0 gauge wire. I believe the amp has a 115 amp current draw. My question is will my amp continue to clip if I just insert the 200 anl fuse on it? Oh yeah, I also have a jensen 2180 amp on the same wire which has an 80amp current draw. It runs my mids and highs.

wrong impedence,i think that amp only does 2 ohm mono,you prolly have the impedence to low,as for the fuse,that will change nothing,if it aint blowing it, dont put a bigger 1 in

what do you mean you have 2 amps on the same power wire?

as in a distro block i hope...

as for the fuse, it's to protect the wire itself (and your equipment in some cases).

clipping is a result of the level matching (gain) turned too high, and the headunit is overdriving a signal and the amp starts cutting off the upper end of the frequencies (clipping) and ultimately kill the sub/components.

but the amp/subs cutting out is a result of impedence problems not clipping. your amp is going into protect/shutting off to keep from frying itself. (tho it will happen if you keep letting it do that).

x2, make sure they aren't bridged down to like 1ohm
