Amp caught on FIRE!!!

so im driving down the road to a friends house last night and bumpin some music, not even cranked up, BTW im runnin 2 18 BTL and a modded HK at 1ohm. all of a sudden my amp pops and shoots sparks out at me, then my subs cut out, and my one buddy riding with me freaks out, and was like WTF!! so i pull over and its on fire internally so i blew it out and it finally went out so i turn my radio off, hurry to my friends house and pulled it out of my truck. i dunno what happed? nothing was up that loud it wasnt even that hot. i guess since it was modded, plus it has been giving me problems lately cutting in and out, and i cant change the gain on it, which is set about half way. aleast i have a new amp on the way! dunno if this has happened to anyone else, thought i would share it....

LOL i saw a HK 1998 do the same thing.. It popped and caught on fire.. so we blew the fire out and took it apart and cleaned the sut off the case and put it back in.. and it worked fine LOL... and it stilll works fine

haha, dude if i did that. and it worked, i dont think i would put it back in my truck, **** that, lol. those things are jynxed or something, wasnt ever to crazy about that amp, i was in a rush and needed 4k+ and didnt have alot of $$ to spend so... i mean it did its job, im just pissed cuz my truck still kinda smells burnt up...tending to go away though. i recommend NOT modding a HK, lol.

your saying the amp caught on fire, was put out, cleaned up, reinstalled and worked again. That is an amazing amp, its like a cat its got 8 lives left.

LOL I swear! that SOB weas blazin and we put it out, took Qtips to the inside and hooked it back up with 100% function.. we played it for like 2 months afterwards then sold it for $100.. i installed in the guy's new truck and it still works.. pushin his Xplods
