Amp and HU crossover issue

Hi All,

I have a Blaupunkt GTA 470 SF amp which will power Morel Tempo 6' as the front stage and a RF P1S4-8 sub in bridged mode. HU in question is an Alpine 9886.

Thing is the amp has a variable knob for LPF (50Hz - 250Hz) whereas HPF can only be activated with a switch which is fixed at 80Hz.

On the other hand the HU has HPF settings at Off - 80Hz - 120Hz - 160Hz. And no LPF settings, just some Subwoofer centre frequencies and levels (0-15) to play with.

My question is that can I use the LPF xover on the amp and the HPF xover on the HU? Or is it a case of using only one source (i.e. either HU or amp).

if i remeber correctly you use only one so they dont overlap or cancel each other out. you can actually hear how much better it sounds when you use one instead of both at the same time
