Amp and Cap Wiring Help

Alright, I'm fairly new to car stereo's, but I've installed a few simple ones, so I'm not completely in the dark about it.... I was just wondering, can I install two amps ( 1 powering my subs, and the second powering 6x9's) off of one cap... Or does that just not work..... I was thinking, I could run one power cable from the battery to the cap, then off of the cap have a distribution block going to the two amps.... ( the cap is large enough for the wattage of both amps, but is this okay to do, or is that not good?? If not, what do I need to do to make this work? Any help or advice would be much appritiated, thanks.........

It's fine, but it's probably a bad idea to have a cap. in your application.

everone is gonna flame you and what not saying "Dont get a cap." I promise you will soon read the following phrases or some what similar:

- Get a battery instead mainee!!11!11

- That is just a band-aid to cover up your problem, it doesnt fix it.

- Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

The reason I can predict the EXACT statement like a dozen of douche-bags are about to give you is because they are conformists, and got these phrases from reading other posts and then just repeat it without actually even trying it or not. Im not saying that caps are worth having, I really dont know. Im just letting you know that 95% of the people who are going to tell you the 3 statements above havent tried caps cuz they read that statement when they asked, and now swear by it without even really knowing. i ran 2 amps off of a 4farad cap. no probs. but i did take the cap out and noticed zero difference.

Well, like I said I'm new to the dual amp and cap idea, so can someone just explain to me how I can hook up two amps with a cap to 2 12" kicker comp subs ? and how to do it correctly, and if there are any negative sides to it, maybe explain why they are negative.... thanks again, any advice and help is much appritiated!!!

just take the power lead coming from the cap to a dist. block then to the amps. thats how i did it.

you might want to try it with and without the cap. as i said, i ran mine with a cap for a while. when i took it out i didnt notice it was gone.

Alright MTLHEAD, if you know so much about Caps, could you save me some time and let me know why they're so worthless.... I'm not saying they aren't, but I just don't know one way from the other about them, so maybe if you could fill me in....thanks
