AMP acting strange.. help please!!!!

ok well last friday I got into a wreck, and my power wire isnt that long so the amp slid across the trunk, and the power wire ripped out, but all other wires were still in there..

I reconnected the power wire and the amp seemed to work just fine.

when i turn on the amp theirs a rumble noise that comes out of the subs even when no music is on.. and it seems like the sound it amplifying the engine because when i rev the car you can like hear it coming out of the subs!

all the gains didn't move..

and when I put on a song and turn it up the subs go crazy excursion and sounds like total poop..

I can get a video if anyone doesn't know whats wrong, i havent looked at the board to see if their is any noticeable damage..

but you amp guys know what might be my problem?

from the sound of it i would guess that you may have a damaged rca shield ground. The rcas may have gotten yanked and either broke the connection inside the amp or maybe even in the rcas themselves.what kind of amp is it?

Also wanted to add if the rcas did break their connection inside of the amp that you may have to completely remove the rca inputs to find the break. Sometimes they can break and still look perfect to the ***** eye. You could also power the amp up with the subs connected and music playing at low volume with the bottom cover removed and wiggle the rca jacks to see if they have an intermittent connection.

It might be the RCA's

I bought new ones and it did the same exact thing.

Its an Hifonics ' BXI2006

is their anyway I could repair it?

Ground could have been jerked loose...

I think the amp lost ground. When it did it tried to ground through the RCA's and burnt the ground. I can fix it. PM me if you want it done.

The ground wasn't loose at all.. and the ground wire is about 3 feet long and the amp didnt slide more than 1ft.

If you are handy at all with a soldering iron and it is indeed a burnt trace and or broken connection it shouldnt be too dificult to fix yourself but if you have any questions at all about your ability then leave it to a professional. If you were local to me I would check it out for free.

You're wasting your time. Most of the RCA's circuit is under the board. You would have to take the whole amp apart to see it and I don't recommend that.

Well one of you are telling me to do it myself and to not do it myself..

Ill probably ship it to someone trusted and see if they can fix it.
