Why are atomic 3000.1ds so cheap???

I just picked one up for 380 shipped and its in great shape externally pretty much mint (have not tested to see if it works yet tho) and the other one i have i traded my ab xd2000 plus $80 on my end for it.

Im just curious as to why there so much cheaper than the sundowns, rd's (same board) and even the crunch and sometimes the audiopipe 3000's.

Everything i have read about these says that are just as good if not better than the sundowns and rd's.

I have never used a sundown or rd but i have had good luck with the one that i have tested and i expect the same from the one i just received.

I used to run the one at .7 ohm daily and it got warm but never went into protect and seemed to be very powerful only i never got it clamped before.

been around for a while. warrenty not transferable. give it a few years and i bet the resale on 1500ds and rd...if rd is still around...will probably go down such as everything else in car audio. doesnt mean anything bad about the company tho.

Same reason why RD prices are going down...the owners are douches for the most part, and most people don't want to be affiliated with that or rely on a sketchy owner.
true that. I called atomic the other day, guy answered on the first ring and told me to send inquiry through email. Sent him an email which he replied to days later and only answered half of my questions and referred to the manual which i told him i did not have and requested him to provide me.

solid amps tho lots of good clean power.

Transferable warranty is a BIG reason why my amps have a higher than average re-sale value... plus buyers know I will help them out even if it is a used product that I'm not making any additional money on. Those things go a long way in the used market.

they can range from as cheap at $75 - $300. depends what really happens to it. such as multiple problems or just a little thing.
thats good to know. even a worst case scenario repair will only end up costing me a bit more than a sundown in the end.

This, i accidently did something that i shouldn't have done and it even said in the manual not to do what i did because the warranty would be voided and he still warrantied it for me and i sold it for $30 less than i paid. Piece of mind is an amazing thing in this industry.

how long is the warranty good for? i feel like a lot of the sundowns that are sold have to be older than a year old and they still go for $550 or so.

It is a 2 year warranty. I've had an amp on the 5th owner 23 months old and I replaced it for the guy since he had documentation.

why am i not surprised you dumb bastard

If i was looking to buy an amp i would be buying one from someone i actually thought i had recourse with. Its no surprise that Sundown has done so well. If its all the same, peace of mind is a feature that i'll gladly pay a little extra for.

On the other hand, i've been looking at getting a few JL HD amps. Why buy them authorized when i can get them online for half the price? If worst comes to worst and all 3 or 4 breakdown, resulting in me having to replace them.. i still broke even.
