Amp acting funny

My amp powers on but after about two seconds it turns off. The power wire to the ground wire measures at about 12 volts and the remote wire to the groung wire measures at about 7 volts.

try taking a lead from the + + wire that goes to the battery and run it directly to the remote terminal on the amp

if your amp runs fine, you need to run a new remote wire, or find out where the problem is in your remote wire..

maybe your headunit has two remote wires, adn that one is for a power antenna or something

Checked the groud, ran a new remote wire, still getting same problem. Also checked my power wire and found out that it runs at 12 volts before being connected to the amp, but once its connected it measures at 2 volts. No speaker wires are connected, or any rca cables. Only wires connected are the power, ground, and remote.

If it shuts down with nothing connected to the outputs your amp has a problem. Sounds like it is time to either take it to the shop or start shopping for a new amp.
