americas first supercar beats veyron!!

and the gt costs how much more? and the vette is how much more civilized? personal tastes and such, true. but factors nonetheless. truth is, for the money, the vette is flat hard to beat as an all around sports car. there are other cars that do individual things better, but as a package, including price, what competes? the gt was supposed to beat the z06, lol. and in certain catagories it's extremely close.

the zr1 will bring the vette's pricetag up to a new level. but with that, new vette levels of performance. the first factory vette at or near 200mph (the z06's top speed was 186, the gt's quite a bit more. part of the reason for those times. the vette was out of wind), first factory supercharged vette and that ugly *** hood window. i can't stand that thing, lol, and i'm a vette lover.

I totally agree. The vett is probably the best bang for the buck performance car, but I cant stand it when chevy owners compare it with the gt. Not sure about the civilized part though. They are in 2 different leagues hence the price stand point.. I had a guy I used to work with thats all over chevys nuts, and he would make claims saying the vett is just as good, actually better. Two totally different cars.

is that why my ford explorer has 173k on it and all ive done is oil changes and 3 o2 sensors, a belt and brakes?

yea kinda like every chevy or ford we have ever owned has made it into the 200k b4 we decided to sell it and we never do anything to our cars, we have an 85 s10 with 324k on it and its never had anything done to it.

not to mention i get more mpg now at 173k on a 10 year old car than even the epa rating in 1998.

oh and did i forget to also state im still on the factory clutch? (yes i have a manual explorer).

 
my uncle actually bought one of those toyota trucks and its literally the biggest piece of shit ever put on 4 wheels. its cheesy for a full sized truck and its gutless as hell.

but to say it's more bang for the buck then the vette? it's nowhere near as civilized. in just about every highend sports car showdown, the one car everyone has always wanted to drive back was the vette. and that's compared to ferrari, porsche (IMO, closet thing to a vette on the planet as far as overall package), ford, dodge, whomever. to me, that says alot.
