There are SO few "proven" top speed tests.

The Dauer 962 is always quoted @ 250ish.

I've seen the Sledgehammer mentioned as high as 268.

Truth of the matter is these times are simply estimates, and have never been measured.

The Sledgehammer has.

The Dauer hasn't.

The Edonis hasn't

The list goes on.

Either way, Veyron > Aero until the Aero is finished like a true super car.

and i don't like either the veyron or the aero. i'll honestly take the zr1, or a zo6, and enjoy my life quite nicely. and if i had a million to spend on a car, a true 1967 L88 (or even a 1968 version) would find it's way into my driveway.

The "true" top speed was 255, but on several sources it was quoted as 268.

Ide take the bugati any day over that. No contest.. Here is a nice little link of 0-186 times. Notice how slow the z06 is compared to similar power cars.. To think, some zo6 lovers were trying to compare it to the ford gt.. No offense vett owners, I like vetts.

Ofcourse cars like the buggati, and the mclarenf1 own the list. As for the lingfelt corvette, the bugatti, and the henessey viper beat it pretty good. Apparently that car cant get off the line with all that torque. Even from a roll it got beat, but then again both the viper and the bugati have much more power.. All nice cars though.

and the gt costs how much more? and the vette is how much more civilized? personal tastes and such, true. but factors nonetheless. truth is, for the money, the vette is flat hard to beat as an all around sports car. there are other cars that do individual things better, but as a package, including price, what competes? the gt was supposed to beat the z06, lol. and in certain catagories it's extremely close.

the zr1 will bring the vette's pricetag up to a new level. but with that, new vette levels of performance. the first factory vette at or near 200mph (the z06's top speed was 186, the gt's quite a bit more. part of the reason for those times. the vette was out of wind), first factory supercharged vette and that ugly *** hood window. i can't stand that thing, lol, and i'm a vette lover.
