American Bass/ JBL...Daaammnn!

It's been a long time since I've been really impressed with spl vehicles, but today my friend Burt made me grin that really big devilish grin of astonishment. He gave me a listen to his new spl setup for this years comp season.

4 American Bass XD-1800's running 1ohm @16v = 1800rms

4 JBL Power P1220D II in a 6.1 cubic foot box tuned to 34hz

1 Chevy S-10 extended cab pickup

At the time of the demo he hadn't metered it yet, but all I can say is D*MN that truck is loud and it hurt my insides like hell! I think Burt has built himself another trophy winner... congrats my friend.

I haven't used American Bass but I've heard good things about them.

As for JBL, I think they're some pretty good subs for the price. They pound good, hold up well and they sound leaps and bounds better than the crapola P Miller and Audiobahn junk in Circuit City.

The JBL GTI's are completely Sick subs. I have yet to hear an install that their responce and magantude weren't mind blowing.

As for the American Bass's...they are widly know as cheater amps. I think Loyd used them for quite awhile.

The American Bass amps are really strong. Can handle a low impedance and take a high current. Two of the VFL150.1's at 18v did over 4000w at finals. I think I may try and get one sometime this year.
