Youll are both right. But i think he gots you(it depends on the application). Ive personally heard ported gets higher DB's but Sealed gets better sound quality. You were wrong at first when you said it was made for a ported box.

what are you asking? if you were wrong? you basicly told yourself you were wrong in that screenshot. cvx's can be ran sealed. but as he said its based on application, but he could have easily chosen a more suitable driver for a sealed SQ install.

I can't see pic, but seen someone said it was based on a CVX in a sealed box? I have my CVX in a 1.5cft sealed box and sounds better than my Fi Q every did. This is just what I have heard with my own two ears.

some subs are built purely for sealed applications and wont work (properly) in a ported box, but most subs are built with every consumer in mind wether he or she wants loud or quality.....

Hate to break it to you man but he seems to know more than you do. There is no reason you cant run a cvx in sealed enclosure and have it sound great. The cvx was not designed as an all out spl woofer to be played in ported boxes only.

cvx's lean towards sealed and L7's lean towards ported.

I think the CVXs were designed as a round Kicker sub that will hang with the power handling of the l5/l7s...not as a sub for a particular type of box

what i actually meant was..the cvx sounds better ported than sealed..i heard both applications and liked ported better so thats what i based my claim on

if kicker gives specs for putting the cvx in a sealed and a ported box, i think it's safe to assume it was designed for use in both.
