Am I going to lose my license?

It doesn't matter if the sign was 15 ft away. The speed limits and rules are there for a reason, and you DO have to respect them. As you very well know.
I have often thought about that.

At what point is one expected to slow down / speed up.

Because TN has 70 mph highways (not interstate) that connect cities...would one slam on the breaks when the speed limit changes. Most people slow down gradually....

Oh yea..I have done way more stupid things, but keep in mind guys both of my parents are law enforcement...So I respect the law and understand it. I just make the common mistakes everyone else does and seem to get messed with more cause of my car and my town.

Ok well Im having extremely bad luck. A few monthes back, I got a small speeding ticket (30 in a 20). The jude threw it out, and gave me the small driving "class". Well I just got a 40 in a 30 ticket, and for the same court date I have a nosie violation ticket...(which is a non moving violation so that doesnt matter). But heres my worry. I got into a small fender bender (my mirror clipped another cars mirror..didnt have my license on me and got a ticket for that which is also non-moving violation)..but I heard thats 4 points on your license for a wreck, and a speeding ticket that isnt thrown out is 4 points. Im also 17, so thats 8 point, which means Ill most likely be royally f'ed. What do you guys think?
As mentioned, varies state to state....but it's also easy to say you're having bad luck and finding something to put the blame on. Let's rewind a bit.... you were driving 30 in a 20 and 40 in a 30, seems like you knew you were speeding (who doesn't, you should also be checking frequently and its also not that hard to keep your foot on the pedal without speed increasing or decreasing). Maybe it's not your luck, rather....its you. Just a thought.

Don't worry, you don't have it bad. Try putting up with 2 speeding tickets and following to close with warnings of speeding and unsafe lane change (two of those tickets being within 6 months). You're not screwed as far as your driver's license goes, but maybe pops will be ready with the belt for an *** whoopin....oh wait, we're in the year 2000 and that is considered child abuse and not discipline, stupid society, no wonder why there are 14 year old pregnant girls walking around the street and 12 yr old smoking n' drinking alcohol...ain't life grand.

No "pops" is a cop and tells me the same lecture the cop gave me and stays on my asss about it all. He hates it because I have a "drug dealer car" and thats all I hear. He even tells me I wouldnt get bothered as much if I didnt have my car. And yeah, I knew I was speeding a little, but I also learned my speedo is 5 mph off.

That sucks...my pops isnt a cop but i get lectures all the time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I'm assuming you mean yours is 5 mph off meaning when you drive 40 it shows 35. If so, that sucks. My '01 Accord is the opposite. If I'm driving 90, it's actually 87 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

You're expected to gradually slow down to the new speed before you reach the next limit.
Like wise, for an increase, you are not supposed to accelerate until after, or at, the new sign.
seems like a good way to cause an accident.

The signs change at night and you cannot see them due to graffiti, hit by car, etc.

This isn't as bad as lebanon where I was pulled over for running a stop sign that was lying in the ditch. He told me that I should have noticed there was a stop sign for oncoming traffic and assumed a 4 way stop.

your town/city really needs to fix their signs

i noticed in my town some intersections that i would never think would have a stop sign at have them now, it makes it awkward, the city people must be retarded cuz there's to many freakin stop signs in my town like every block there's one, stop and go shit

Yeah flip thats bs. I used to get stopped in my Sonoma for my plate not being 12" off the ground and stuff like that. In gallatin Ive had..

4 seat belt tickets

Warnings for truck being too low.

2 music warnings, 1 ticket

1 Registration ticket

Seat belt "fix it ticket"

2 Speeding tickets

Ticket for not having license on me at the time

We also have these nice things called red lights with cameras. when you run them, it takes your picture and you receive a $50 ticket in the mail. Got 2 of them. I guess I **** at life huh?

I would of thought it kinda odd to see stop signs on all corners but the one I was on....and would of had like an error message flash across my forehead due to the missing sign.
