Am I going to do better than this?

310 bucks shipped for one of Scottie J's modified 1501D's. I'm planning to run 2 XXX's or 2 Brahma's, most likely the XXX's. Basically, I'm working with a decent sized budget but 350 bucks is basically the max I wish to spend on the mono amplifier.. as I'll already have to wait to get my front amp for my components I plan to install.

So my question is, is there a better fit for 2 12"s for less than 350 bucks? Thanks.

i believe the viper d2500.1 is $350 at http://www.ikesound.com. also doesn't that modded amp put out full power at 1 ohm? 2 brahmas/xxx would give you a 2 ohm load and the viper does 2500 wrms at 2 ohms

I believe Scottie said the amp was stable at like .5 ohms but needs 18V or some such. In regards to the XXX, I think they're 2 ohm, but you can get quad 2 and dual 1.

And yes, the 1501d outputs I believe 2000 rms at 1 ohm.

so it puts out full power at 0.5 ohms? you could wire the dual 2 ohm subs in parallel for a 0.5 ohm load. 18 volts? doubt you are really gonna get a constant 18 volts without doing some major improvements.

if it's at 1 ohm you can get the dual 1 ohm subs and run them in series. xxx i hear need a good amount of power. one xxx could handle that much power.

i personally would get a bigger amp. 900 watts rms a piece to an xx wouldn't be doing it justice. you could try an sx with that power, or even a single xxx with 1800 watts.
