Then again, I do have hereditary tinnitus and have been suffering with it since I was a child. Bad genetics FTL:(

Yep, ear drum is loosening up.
I've had a system in everyone of my vehicles for the last 11 years. Nothing over 146 DB and I can still hear pretty good. I do get an occasional ring in my right ear, probably because it's moreover on the inner part of the car. For some reason though, I can still hear cell phones and other noise a mile away. That's cause I'm a hybrid.
hahaha a hybrid. Im the same way. My girlfriend cant understand it either. Ill be playin my stuff and ill pause it for a second and be like, ur phone is vibrating //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

haha.. jeeze.. mine usually falls out on the side of seat and i cant ever find it until i look for 5 minutes.. pisses me off...my phones junk though so i dont really care if it flys around

I think it happens to everyone. Best way around it, is take out your subs for a year or so.

I've had aftermarket systems in cars for so long, I can't stand stock. Even when stock today > my old "SQ" builds..... But, give it a few months, and your ears will go pretty close back to normal. We will never regain 100% hearing. I fail every hearing test I take. My doctor offered me an earbud, but when I asked him if I could use it in my car he looked at me like I was stupid. He said it was best for me to stop "that childish crap" and let someone have my shit.

A YEAR?!?! I went bassless for like 6 days when i was installing my current setup and by day 3 i was already having withdrals lol

sensory fatigue is why you don't feel or hear the bass so much after a prolonged period of time. this is why people go deaf. they get used to the level, then they turn it up, etc etc.
