im puttin 2 12" mags and a sundown 1500

2006 nissan maxima

bandpass box custom built by them so it looks like it 'belongs,' not just thrown in.

when arm rest folds down there is a plastic plate, that will be cutout and serve as the port from the bandpass box.

about 5cubes overall i think

second battery.

im supplying subs, amp, wires, battery

priced $950

box will be built completely by them

$75/hr labor ...guy said 5hrs to build box alone and 4 for install.

add in LOC

and he says my trunk is weird because the back seats slope and so does the bottom of trunk.

and the 950 is the "greatest it can be" because he doesnt want to give me any surprises when i go in.

yes, thats just for the install and building of box.

im pretty much stuck because no shop around here wants to build a box/install subs they dont no much about.

one guy quoted me 1200 and said i couldnt do a ported box that my trunk would only fit 2cubes....he got laughed at.

not to mention i just sent out 300bucks for a kinetik and tsunami 1/0 guage wiring kit w/ RCA's.

That's exactly why I hate car audio stores. I'll have a conversation with the salesmen demostrating me knowledge on car audio, and they still try to rip me off when I ask for a price. Am I too used to online prices, or are they always out to get you?

but i would have noone to install it...i couldnt do it...

1. my parents would never let me because of bad installs my brothers friends have done to his car, so mine has to be done by someone reputable

2. you could say im 'illiterate' when it comes to installation

but that $75/hr labor is higher because i aint buy from him.

ok so save some money on the box and just have the shop do the instal and no box build ?? btw i have gotten 4 cubes out of the back of a maxima with no problem

1. Don't sell yourself short by assuming you can't do it. Hooking up a amp is a matter of 4 wires. My little sister can install systems, and she's not even into car audio.

2. That's your friends installation, not yours.

3. Illiterate? Then learn. Find some DIY threads and read. You can always come to us with bumps along the road if you need it.

4. HAHA good luck with that. Negotiating with car audio stores is like negotiating with bank robbers, they're geedy and assholes about it.
