am I getting a deql for this system?

I would still like to see a line-by-line breakdown of what the shop was going to charge for the parts and labor, and how many hours of labor estimated.
I doubt they'll give it to him. As far as they're concerned if his car's not in their bay right now, they lost the sale.
Don't buy the set. Offer him about 350 for the pair of type Rs and take your money here to get you a better amp and a non-prefab box that will actually make those Type Rs shine. You'll be far under 1000 and you won't have to worry about shady business to make it happen. Also, @Dtrom ; has two Type R 12s he's trying to sell right now at 90 bucks plus shipping and are basically new. Try and get your shop to price-match that and watch their heads spin.
Thanks for helpin me out bro... Yes OP I have the 1000rms type r 12s for sale. I'm currently awaiting payment from another member, if the deal falls through and your interested, ill shoot you a PM.

prices sound close to being right for a shop , but you can get better ,they'll prolly give you a cheap amp kit thats not even 8 gauge wire . the subs are of at best ,but the amp is junk ,and you should never use a pre fab box unless you have no choice

300 for both subs. 100 for the box. 250 for the amp and 100 for parts and labor
They're cheaping out on install parts. A good amp wiring kit will set you back somewhere around 40-60 bucks, so I doubt they're only asking 40 bucks in labor.

Also, you're being ripped off on the box and the amp. Only real deal you're getting is on the subs and, even then, not by much

i see your in dallas im jsut NE of austin would be willing to help you install this stuff if you were closer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

how is he getting burned on a kenwood 9105D. That thing usually goes for $300+ retail.

I also don't understand how kenwood is junk.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I dont wanna praise or crusifie the shop but the sops around here are almost double the price you can get on the internet. Also he's making money on the components so he may not charge as much for labor. Those prices may be high but not ridiculous as far as shops go. At least if something goes wrong you have someone to scream at.

If your not capable of doing the work yourself, ask around and see if you can find a few people that have had the shop install stuff. And go from there.

If you can do it yourself you can get a lot better equipment for that money online. Especially used.

these subs are apearently not even broken in yet. he said they are about 2 months old. i heard them and they sound great. so i looked at some amps at the pawn shop and i found these. the guys selling me the subs has a hifonics amp hooked up to them right now. so which of these would be better. i couldnt find anything about the memphis audio amp. anyone seen one of these before. the hifonics is 1700 watts. will that go well with the subs.
