Am I being retarded?...Yes I think so

You just have to be careful with that many subs because of phase problems you might run into.

Ahhh. Talked to JL engineers today. I got the big thumbs up for running the 8 10W0s. No phase problems the box will definitely be individually chambered to .75 cubic feet per woofer. Should sound hella loud and be perfect for my trunk design. I'll take build pictures and junk as I work on it. Thanks for all the help.

find this very hard to believe ... depends on box size and if its vertical ..had a friend with 12 15" rf xlc's did a messly 138.... went to six in a straight wall was doin 150's lol granted this is extreme but ............

Uhhhh. Well by all my accounts with my trunk facing the woofer up down left right did not make a bit of difference the only difference was made when the woofer was faced completely into the cabin. I'll see what happens when I complete the install. Then if aiming needs to be done I will make some angle rings for the box.

EDIT: Also please remember that I'm not making an SPL comp car.

DOUBLE EDIT: I might also make a secondary system with 2 JL10W7s for SPL COMP

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Ok let me say this again. I said I did not NOTICE a difference when aiming the subwoofer in my trunk aside from aiming it directly into the cabin regardless of soundwave length at different fz. With the low excursion of the W0 wouldn't that affect the length of the soundwaves being put out? Also with the number of subs wouldn't that make up for a good portion is misaimed soundwaves? Now I'm not sure how long all the Sound Frequency waves are, but I know the lower ones are longer than the higher ones, and I'm trying for the higher ones wouldn't that be better for what I'm trynig to do?

all im gonna say is 6 done right will be better than 8 done even partly right..................there is alot of stuff here you know about some and the higher the freq the more likely u'll end up f'in it up

True the good thing about it is that If the 8 doesn't work all I have to do is remove 2 subs because the box will be chambered. I know that when it comes to speakers its not just more=better I just want to utilize the maximum amount possible in my trunk. I wish I could show you the idea I have in my head for the box I mean although they will be laying down flat the won't really be flat. What I had in mind was even making the box concave or convex /concave for the last 2 woofers.

no----excursion affect amplitude
Also with the number of subs wouldn't that make up for a good portion is misaimed soundwaves?
no-----as the space between the subs account for time[phase] and they can work against each other

the higher the freq the MORE out of phase they'll be

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif Ahhhh. Well lemme see here if I can calculate the space there will be between each woofer.

I have SQ now I'm just trying to fill a hole. I will be right back though I'm going to go out and measure the space I will have between woofers.

It looks like I mismeasured its going to be 6 10s after all. The box will have to be Convex now though. Good thing I didn't make that box already. There's about 6-8" seperating the subs. Think that will cause phase problems?
