Am I asking for trouble????

curious I wired up my 4 channel amp directly to the battery....

I then wired my alpine pdx 1.1000 to a 1 farad cap, wired to the battery....

until i get my dual battery set-up, wired and running, am I asking for trouble? ex.. dead battery, fried alternator etc...???

p.s. the car is a 2007 toyota yaris, aprox 90amp alternator...

you'll probably get voltage drops and dimming, but you're not going to vaporize your car or anything

also the cap is doing nothing, and a second battery won't do much with only a 90 amp alternator and over 1000w of power

Yes I plan on upgrading the alternator soon, once I locate one...

I also plan on the Big 3

and the cap I had laying around, new, unused figured what the hell....

thanks my main concern was draining the battery and being stranded...I won't be using the stereo unless engine is running...

If you play your stereo hard, constantly, you will eventually drain the battery, but as long as you give it some time to charge every so often, meaning don't always blast music, or just don't always listen to music, you'll be fine.

i had roughly 1500 rms, in dash dvd, nav unit running in my civic and i have stock alt, stinger battery, 3 farad stinger cap and never had any dimming or voltage drops. well no drops below 12.5 volts, even running air conditioning. and i am running HID headlights

so upgrade to a deep cycle batt and you should be fine.
