to convert amps to watts you muliply (amps)x(volts) so if you had 11000 watts in each amp your car would be running 916.6 volts

An alternator does not run at 12 volts, nice try. You can't even get a simple equation involving 3 variables correct, all the while making comments like these....

there is 11,000 watts in one amp and yes there is not an alt made for a vehicle that is smaller than 80 amp and i think its on a geo and if you have one of those then i feel sorry for you

I have a Geo ('95 Prizm) and after seeing this spouting of misinformation I don't care if you feel sorry for me or not as I would wager my level of aftermarket car audio knowledge is likely far superior to your own (Hmmm....that sounds exceedingly condescending ~ oh well).

Because in its stock configuration there is no way in Hades that it would ever have supported the needs of the car as well as a decently-sized audio setup. Period. /story

No, it really doesn't. Even a Geo with a 60amp alt would not be the smallest alt made. Honestly, how could anyone think an 80amp alt was the smallest available, in any car?
It shows a distinct lack of experience. Some young guy who only really knows modern vehicles with their full power windows, doors, etc etc that yes, do run larger alts... but has no clue about all cars, yet has no problem speaking (specifically) as if he does in fact know about all cars. Anyone whose been around a while has come across plenty of 50amp (or less) alts in old chevys and fords, as just one example. My chevelle's stock alt was stunningly low, like 30amp... but then, there just wasn't any need for a larger one on them back then.
