Alternators = THE TRUTH

i HATE mralternator.com, i despise them greatly. they have shitty service and are shitty to their customers, aka me. i had a high output 200amp for mine from them......and it blew up in 6 months and brought it in to my guy and he took it apart and said it was made fromt he cheap shitty parts. and when i called mralternator to ask about it they flipped out on me. so **** them. i'll stick with my excessive.

i can also rep with this, when i had my stock 120 alt my lights were dimming just slighty and my idle would drop everytime i bumped. Then I did the big three and got an iraggi alt for 300 with 200 amps, it solved everything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

glad to hear you got a good experience with them, i bought an HO alternator about 8 monhts ago and it was BAD move, i used to be 14.4 idle , and when i was bumping real loud i would hit 13-12.5 some times. I put the mr altenator alternator and i was doing 12.6 idle so i dont even want to imagine how low it would go , it dosent to shit until like 3000 rpms . I called them up after a bunch of times , and i got to speak with one of the guys and he told me to send it in. My situation with them is PENDING but it seems they might help me out, ill repost my experience, im getting the HO alt taken out today and i should be sending it tommorow also.

so if i turn my system up REALLY loud and i dont notice any dimming or my idle RPM dropping, i'm good right? cuz i've got a stock 60-amp (i think? 94 acura integra) running no more than 900 watts total (peak power)

I am looking...Advance Auto Parts has them for my car but then run around $369, I get a 1 year warranty and plus it is a real store. Excessive Amperage would cost me around $220 + S/h. Irragi Alternators is in the next town over but I can't seem to find his number in the phone book, nor does he have a website that I could find.
Thanks for the review. Kinda convinced me to move the alternator higher up on the list. 85A just ain't cutting it anymore.
that's the whole point of what i'm saying in this thread. its not to go w/the same company that i went with but more so that you don't wait or cheat your system's true potential by holding off on what is really necessary. I really think that some within this forum try to express the importance of the alternator but really haven't done a great job as they could. so take it frome me, the benefits are endless when you upgrade as far as performance w/your car audio eq., car's "refreshness", and your ability to appreciate what you have more - thus when you compare your system w/someone else who has the same set up but is running a larger alternator - one that is sufficient enough for the amps and power you'll notice that their system is better.

don't be sold short

well i haven't come close to the six month mark and hopefully that was a one time occurance. What i do know is that i have a 1 yr warranty on the alternator and so far i'm impressed with what's going on. Things always look good when stuff starts off so hopefully they remain this way. Did you do the big 3 when you upgraded your alt?

now the parts thing - i'm using the same casing and everything that comes from the stock alt w/my car - so i know the parts issue doesn't exist in my case.

maybe what you sohuld have done was take it to them to have them take it apart and find out what the issue was rather than taking it somewhere else where someone can be a critic to a product that wasn't their own.

if i was a shop and u borguth it to me when it blew i'd agree that it was shitty... i mean hell i think the edk sucks but yet i own one but yet again i'm selling one.

hit me up on aol sometime.. gotta find out when you're coming down again

900/12volts = 75 amps just for hte car stereo

you said peak power so i don't know. again i'm not in a position to determine that but why not check the voltage of your car when its idle and your system is up to see if there is a voltage drop..... maybe play the system when you're driving up really loud for a good 30 min or so then park and keep it up then check voltage..

heck i don't know, ask john, lol.......

you might just wnat to do the big three to be safe.. may not have to get a new alt

did you do the big 3 too?!?!?!!!!!!!!!

i can't wait for the update....... the guy i talked to was Steve... be sure to keep it professional..

remind him that you're apart of a car audio fourm where he COULD have potentially more sales if things are fixed.

Any written proof to that?
Yes, I purchased an alternator from Excessive Amperage and had to send it back 4 times because he just couldn't get it right. Don't get me wrong, Nathan is a nice guy, but I just won't be doing business with his company ever again. Every time I installed the alternator it never even came close to the output of my STOCK alternator, in fact the average voltage readout was around 12.2 which is what the battery would sit at without an alternator charging. My stock alternator keeps me at a 14.2, but when the bass is going I drop to around 13.5. After the second time I sent it back, Nathan actually said that he rebuilt it from the ground up and it still didn't work. Also, when I sent it back for the last time requesting a full refund and all of my shipping costs, it took him nearly 3 weeks after he received the alternator. Simply not a good way to do business. I don't enjoy writing something like this but since I was asked for proof.........here ya go.
