Ok i dont know what my alternator is rated in amps but its a stock in my civic dx 95'. I want to get the mmats d300hc which is rated between 1200 and 1400 watts rms. i know this would probably kill my alt. I was wondering what and could i just lower some kind of gain so that i wont need a new alt? thank you

whew could you send that link. i did a search and wow its all over my head. me not knowing anything about cars, whats an hc alternator and how much would it cost to get one that could handle my desired "wattage"?

i got 80 amp alt and 650 cca battery and 150amp r.f 60amp rf amp+eq + hu and i'm ok! p,s call kragen thay can tell you what your alt amps are you have see how much cca your battery has then let us know?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks for the link. Yeah just to post my alternator is rated at 70 amps. I hope your just a beginner at your powers chevy. im tight on money just like size 2 pants are on a full grown man. with lots of hair.

ive got a modded mtx 1501d run off a stock alternator and i have a 94 acura (manufactured by honda). i also have a stock battery and everything is fine. im only running it in 4 ohms though.

Big three will cut down on dimmage, but by no means is it a "miracle cure" If you really are planning on getting into audio hard core I'd suggest you budget enough money to atleast get a 150 amp alt...

Just an honest suggestion. (The yellow top would help more than just doing the big 3)

the big 3 helps on light dimming, but does it help send more power to your amps at all? i mean you are not gonna get more than your alternator but would the stock wiring hinder the passage of power thru the electrical system to make a noticable difference on your amp power?
