ATTENTION Dead Amplifier Owners

I really need an amplifier component. I will give someone a good chunk of change for a specific amplifier part, labeled with numbers A1266

Mine cracked in half and I think if I replace it, the amplifier will work correctly again.

The unit is a semicircle. From the top it resembles a capital "D". On the flat side of this component should read "A1266" across the middle.

I'm serious. I need this part. Thank you for your assistance.

Sounds almost like a voltage regulator...is it connected to the heatsink, or sort of by itself in the circuit? Regardless, get in contact with the manufacturer, see if they'll give you a partial schematic.

Digi-Key, Mouser, Jameco, MCM, and other electronics places should stock the part.

Ive thought about doing this.. however I find it weird to buy something from a company in which there is not a picture to ensure that it is the specific thing that I need...

I'll try and find it in the DigiKey print catalog then.

And it would be the wrong part.

Doesn't look like a 'D' to me. Does this 'D' shaped thing have three leads coming off of it?

Oh, and what brand of amp is this? Some companies are nice enough to send you the component for free or for a very small fee. Memphis and Phoenix Gold have done this for me in the past.

Its not a mosfet if that's where you're going with that

Resonant Engineering. Upon calling them, they referred me to KBAudio, who I have contacted twice. Each time they said that they were going to send a pair to me, but either never did, or they were lost in the mail.

It's either a MOSFET or a voltage regulator.
