alternator whine ?

OK I am getting mad at this truck....just got it running right rebuilt *****...

now my crunch 1000 4ch amp is whining but my mono amp is just fine........

Setup

0ga to dual anl fuse block 100amp on mono 60amp on 4ch

1.5ft 0 ga ground to distribution block 6in to each amp...

0 to frame off both batts 0 off block to frame

only happens when truck is running

now I tried rca wires from mono amp and whine continues

cleaned all grounds and frame they hook to...

tried different 4ch and no whine.....

Is my amp toast it was cheap so..

crossfire tek 35.4 is much louder than the 1000watt crunch I dont think its half the power?

So you're saying the whine is completely gone after switching out amps? Looks like your grounding is solid.. Seems to be a bad amp.. Crunch is not known to be good quality so I think you just answered your own question. Don't expect to actually get 1000w rms from that crunch amp. It's probably only a few hundred at most.

from my experience, the crunch, boss, pyle type amps do not seem to work when installed correctly. when they are installed like a 6yr old did it they seem to work just fine. i would ditch the crunch amp as its a turd and use the crossfire amp. you will get better performance from the crossfire anyway.

Well i left the crunch in and it even whines when trucks off now thinking amp is toast...got what I paid for

well it still wines I re-grounded the head unit ? and moved all grounds on truck so ? head unit mabey pioneer deh-x6600bt its less than 6 months old

Fixed I soldered 1 wire on each of my rcas outer case and put a wire on deck case with bullet connectors no whine clear as can be

must be a pioneer thing

Pioneer head units are know for the pico fuse blowing. Anytime removing rca's make sure your power in off. I soldered mine and it has been fine.
