alternator whine!

I have an ultimate amp running my nakamichi components and when I started my car I can hear an annoying whine. I have it grounded to my passenger seat and the power and rcas are separated. I have sanded down to the metal before grounding and that didn't seem to help at all.

Any suggestions? I have a 91 tercel.

I wouldn't ground it to your passenger seat. Try popping out a door sill and scraping away the paint with a screwdriver and grounding there.

thanks for the suggestion! I'll give it a try and see what happens....I'm also gonna try regrounding my hu....you think that's a good idea?
