Alternator upgrade

I agree that you shouldn't need a HO alt for 1200 watts. I ran 1200 watts on a 80 amp alternator and XS battery under the hood with no issues. But if you do decide to get an alternator I highly suggest going with Singer. You may pay a little more but the alts are great and the CS is great. Mylows and Mike will be there for any questions or issues you have. I also had a fitting issue when I first tried to put it on. Sent it back and received it a couple days later. Couldn't be happier with my purchase and the customer service I recieved.

I agree Mike Singer is a great guy to deal with his customer service is great. Hes gotta be a busy guy and always gets right back to me fast. I think I paid about 500 for my 290 amp alt on my truck and with that and 4 Black cherrys and a lot of 0 gauge, I never go under 14 hardly ever. And thats with 7k amp.

It's 1200 rms my 2 subs are 350w rms each and 1400 max. I also had dimming when playing music and I was told that an extra battery or capacitor won't do anything but put extra stress on the alternator especially with the music I play is constant rolling bass rather than frequent bass drops so I could imagine it needs a good amount of power. .....JS Ultimate Alts wants 350 for a 220amp sounds good
