alternator touble

hello question for people running ho alts I just installed duals with regulator set at 14.8 and now light on dash is flashing. Alts are charging fine but light blinking is driving me crazy any ideas how to turn light off?(2000 suburban). Thanks in advance
The battery light? I'm pretty sure that's normal behavior if you've bypassed the factory plug. You could remove the bulb, but depending on what state your in, it may have to be dealt with before it will pass smog e-check. I'm in the same boat and plan on reinstalling stock alt when comes time to smog. I am curious though if there's a way to close the circuit and shut the light off properly...without going back to factory alt.

Wait, that light has be to off to pass smog check? I've had my battery light on since I installed my HO alt too but it's not bright red, like barely glowing. It's impossible to see in the day practically but I see it alittle at night. I live in southern california too.

Not an issue in Cali. There a plug that we make at singer alts. That should take care of that My slt did the same until mike sent me the plug lights off now

I assumed the light would have to be off. Last truck I had they wouldn't smog until warning lights were cleared. I guess battery light may not matter...I hope that IS the case.

That's good to hear. Mike did send me a factory regulator to convert back to pcm controlled if needed...is that what you're referring to? I assume it wouldn't be charging at 14.7 anymore with it installed. Is there a way to clear the light while still bypassing the factory regulator?
