Alternator Sense Wire

A friend asked if the sense wire on the alternator, if wired wrong, can over charge ur batt. An if u had 2 batts is this a gud thing.....

^ yes sometimes it doesnt even charge at idle lol. Still need to fix mines, **** busy schedule.

The sense wire only is to send a 12 volt signal to turn the regulator on if there's little or no voltage try it the alts reg won't turn on so no charge

Ok....he asked if they is a way to make the alt over charge? He's not a CA guy, he's building a drift car an is doing his own wiring an all tht....

he is going to need an external voltage regulator if he does that.

He cudnt find the link, but watevs Thanx Tho....I told him he cud get an alt built for higher voltage and he flipped. "U can get an alternator built!!!!" so he's on another mission now....

Depends on the car. We can build a bypass for some so that you don't need the external reg it also depends on where he wants the voltage at as well

Can you make my 6.8L V10 excursion charge higher? Like 14.8? I'm only charging in the 13's right now.

If it's ecu controlled. Then maybe it can make the battery or check engine light come on tho. But not on all vehicles
