alternator ?'s

I have a 66 galaxie im restorin and the alternator in it stock is 60 amps... if i upgraded it to a 100 amp and added the big 3 how many more volts would i get on estimate? what about for a 140 amp alt....

all electrical systems usually charge at 13.8-14.6 volts. upgrading alts shouldn't change your voltage output

unless you run a new regulator and 16V batteries you don't want your voltage above 14V

these upgrades just make it so you can maintain 14 volts when playing all this equipment, not increase it

extra battery wouldn't hurt.

w/ battery I'd say go for it

140a alt w/ 1 or 2 batteries should be fine. Not drawing 2500watts all the time, if ever, driving around daily.

depends on amp. do your alt upgrade, then big 3. an extra battery doesn't help if you don't have enough power to supply your amps because all you're doing is adding more strain to the alt. and please don't mention a cap or i will e-***** slap you

Actually, i take that back.

At FULL output, you're gonna have some dimming/voltage drop, but for 99% of the time, you should be ok. I wouldn't go any bigger than 2000w, tho

main charging cable from front battery positive to second battery positive with in-line fuses at each battery, then ground your battery.
