Alternator question

You just contradicted yourself there...if your stock alt only produces 30-40A and your electrical components draw at least 45A, then you would already be seeing voltage drops when you stop at a red light...
Most of your advice is based on the assumption that a stock alt only puts out 30-40A at idle which I do not believe you are qualified to make.
Go test a stock alternator. I think you'll be surprised as to what it puts out. Then look at what the stock electrical components of the car are capable of drawing. It's definitely more than what the stock alternator is capable of putting out at idle. I have talked to people who have had their stock 105 amp CS130 Delco alternator tested and found that it generally puts out about 30-40 amps at idle. I think the best anyone had was about 51 amps at idle. Even at best, the stock electrical is capable of drawing more amperage than that.

The difference was in the question. You started the argument. You were arguing something that was not relevant to the question.
Its only not relevant to you because you appear to be incapable of understanding my point. And it only became an 'argument' because me disagreeing with you clearly makes you feel threatened. Im sorry, I dont mean to be so intimidating. I wont hurt you, I promise.

If that's legit and the idle specs are okay, that's an amazing deal.

All good. Give him a call too next time ya need an alt. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Its true tho what others said I dont care how big the alt is, the more batts and load you put on it, faster it goes out.
