alternator or not

Ok i did a little shoppin locally for a HO alternator. They say the biggest i can get for my 99 honda accord 2.3l is like a 160A. i got a could of quotes, then i went to an actual alternator place and they said it would really be a waste of money to get a HO alternator, it would be cheaper jus to carry around a charger to charge my batts.

Ultimately i want to keep my volts up on my system, i jus ran into a little dimming so im going to do the big 3 and hopefully that will take care of the problem.

My issue is will running my Orion 2500d to .5ohm really kill my electrical system to where i need a bigger alternator or will i be good jus doin the big three and running 0 gauge wire, because i really dont want to spend the 5-600 dollars to get a HO alternator if i dont have to.

running that 2500d at .5 daily....that's some SERIOUS current draw...BUT do the big 3 first and if it fixes your dimming, then great. if not, then you will need that HO alt..and maybe a yellow top/batt in trunk.

oki got a red top in the trunk already, plus it was doing a slight dimming at 2 ohms

What battery do you have under the hood? Do the Big 3 see if that helps.

Give her the Big 3, see what it do. It may help a bit, but dont know about completely eliminating it. That is a lot of current you will be drawing.
