All,

ok i ordered a 180 amp alternator and it'll be here by the end of the week. When i take this thing to the shop what do i need to tell the shop to do besides replacing the old w/the new?

please keep the format simple yet informative as I'll be taking what you write to him for him to do.

If hes a good mechanic, he will know what to do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

"I need you to replace my stock alternator with this one."

If you want the big three dont too..." I would also like to have some ott gauge wire added to the existing electrical wiring and ground. Battery to alt, battery to chassis, and battery to block."

Please Replace my stock alternator with this new alternator.

Using 1/0 wire, do the following:

Add a wire from Battery positive to alternator positive lead

Add a wire from Battery negative to chassis

Add a wire from Battery negative to Engine block ground

even though you already have 4g, go with 1/0.

can't find ish on ebay other than terminals that have 1 0/1 inputs, 1 4guage input, & 1 8 guage input...

looking for something that has @ least 2 0/1 guage inputs

Look for something that accepts multiple ring terminal inputs...

Order some 1/0 from http://www.weldingsupply.com since it's going under your hood...and gonna get dirty anyway. I'd order 3-5ft. of red, and 3-5 ft. of black (or whatever color you want for pos. and negative).
