Alternator charging batt in the trunk, ok?

No, you need a cap to properly charge your battery. It may work with just your alternator but caps can deliver amps faster

Why would you only have one battery and move it to the trunk? are you trying to save weight? If you're running 1/0 to power your solenoid, just do 1/0 from a front battery to the amp and it's the same thing. There's no need to get a single battery near the amp on what sounds like a small setup.

... note that I'm not familiar with competition classes and possibly there might be some restriction on number of batteries... which sounds like this must be the case.

Its not a competition thing. Its a Restomod thing.

Good suggestion. After I install the cap. I will install one of these just to make sure my amp gets the correct amount of power.
