I got 2100 watts to put in the car, hifronics brutus 1700.1d,and a 100*4 4ch. amp.I have 90 amp alt right now planning adding HO alt later.Question is how many Alternator amps TOTAL do I need?As for the battery in the front it's a Duralast 75-dl.I want to add this in the back (C&D Liberty 1000 Series LS-12-55 12V 52Ah VRLC Battery),or could I buy an Xs Power s3400 put it upfront then put the Duralast or C&d in the back.....any suggestions wanted thanks

Here are some things you will have to take into consideration how much power an amplifier needs depends on load. What ohm load you have on an amp and box rise/ impedance rise determines how much power you will need; not what amp you have.

Another thing to think about is the way a high output alternator works they usually put out very average amps at idle and only put out big power at faster RPMs.

And about the batteries if you mix types like a flooded cell and an agm you will not get your moneys worth out of what you have because they charge at different rates and you will be training one of them to not charge the right way. I will post some battery info for you.

Battery Types: Flooded versus AGM and Gel

Ok the subs are Polk Audio SR124 dvc. With the brutus I can only go to 1 ohm, because dual 4.I didn't know what or how many amps I needed from a alt.I price one from knukoncepts for $255 for a 200 amp alt.I don't know if calculated it right but i think need a 300 amp alt.

You can not calculate the max that those amplifiers will draw at 1ohm unless you knew what box rise you have. And are you planning on playing test tones all day. Your box rise will put your load at something different then what your subs are wired to.

and naw I just want a daily driver with bass on reserve if i need it,but what I'm trying to understand...is how do I test how many watts or volts the amp draws?.I don't have any equipment to this. What is box rise cause your confusing the hell out of me...

total system is 2 polk audio sr124 dvc,1 set of polk audio db6501,1 set of polk audio 691,hifonic brutus 1700.1, any good 100x4 4ch amp, and kenwood excelon kdc-x493.that's my whole setup for now.

Box rise is like this your subs are wired to 1ohm but the pressure that builds inside of your sub box changes the 1ohm load to anywhere’s from 1.5ohm maybe all the way to 8ohm or 10ohm. That means that your amp is not pulling even close to max power from the batteries. The other point was that with music the amount of power your amplifier pulls is always changing the only time it would stay constant is if your were playing a test tone. So what do you need to power your system? Answer you won’t know that until you get it hooked up and do some testing. A $20 multi meter or a $10 volt meter is all you really need. Hook up the volt meter at your amp see what the voltage is with the car running and everything off. Then turn stuff on heater, headlights, music, turn it up to the loudest point that you would have it then see where your voltage is. That’s how to tell what you need and how to tell if you are damaging your amplifiers by under powering them.

So in other words if my amp gain is turnt down, bass knob turnt down my amp isn't putting out 1700 watts at 1ohm correct?Because that's what i want...less power but enough for what want.
