Alternatives to single DIN? Anyone?

First time post for me! Anyhoo...

I am working on restoring a second gen Camaro that I have had for over 20 years. Not long after buying the car I opened up the hole in the dash to fit in a single DIN style radio. Well during this current restoration project I am going to make a custom center console that will hold my new double DIN radio and I cant decide what to put in the old hole in the dash.

I used to have a Sony XE-744 single DIN EQ in the car that I was thinking about putting in the hole in the dash but the new radio already has a built in EQ so I don't really need the other one in there. The radio that I will be using also has video and GPS so I don't really need those either.

What I would like to know is if there are any other single DIN electronic type items available out there (manufacturer name and model number if you have it). Does anyone make any of the following items that would be large enough (or at least close) to fill in the single DIN hole. Keep in mind I am a tech junkie so if you know of something cool that isn't on the list please let me know.

Good Alarm system with LCD type display

Accelerometer with display (digital drag strip)

Any car audio type devices other than a EQ or Crossover

Large (500 GB?) MP3 and MPEG storage device with a display that has a usb output to go to the radios input

Basically I am just looking for something fairly kick azz to fill the single DIN hole in the dash and maybe complement the car and/or the existing radio and that doesn't look like $#!t.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah I guess I could do gauges or something in it, but I already have digital gauges in the dash. Maybe a lit up Camaro sign like you said or something similar might work if I cant find anything else.

I was hoping to find something a little more functional though but I am not having any luck.

Something to fit there is a little harder to find than I thought it would be.

I'd put the Sony in there...fills the hole perfectly,no other modification is needed...and you can watch the lights dance to the music.

Or you could use the hole for some sort of switch panel or push button start or.....
