alternate box finishes

I have a ported box for a single 12 that is carpeted with a dark grey carpet. id like to do something different with it. im trying to consider either wrapping it in a different material or painting it. ive seen some boxes that are just spray painted and a matte color but if i painted it id like it to have a nice gloss. are there any write ups of people who have done this or could point me in the right direction?

try doing a search for some boxes that have been built, there are tons of buildlogs from guys on this site who have painted their box with the gloss look your looking for, It should give you an idea how to do it and how it will look in the end.

Fleck paint and put on a glossy finish. I ve done it a few times and I think it looks pretty sharp.

I just finished using spray on wall texture on mine. Primed, texture, primed, topcoated with RustOLeum Industrial spray. Might go find some automotive Charcoal to go over that to match the interior of my car better.

I'm waiting for someone to build a box out of Corian (sp) counter top material. Fill the seams for a seamless cube, round the edges, and polish.....sweet.

But just about anything can be used as a covering. Walk around Joann fabrics or a place that specializes in upholstery material.
