that will be on the Bat+ terminal useing a side mout GM style battery.

then the other side in that terminal will go to my amp.

oh yeah not to forget im puting this in between the Alt and bat. +

and useing this

150amp fuse

My alt is a 200amp alternator and useing two 150amp inline fuses one before the Battery and the other on the way to the Amp.

Sound good?

you should fuse according to the maximum amount of current your wire can handle, 1/0 is good for ~300A. id put a 300 up front for the alt to batt and maybe a 250 for the longer run to the trunk.

I planed on useing the 150amp fuse that came with my KX1200.1 Kicker amp.

Not that it matters but I don't have a Long run to the trunk Its going in the cab of my truck, about 10 feet give or take a few.

300A all around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I dont recall if the kicker is fused or not. If its not fused then you might wanna put that 150 in there.

Can I really even pull 300 my alternator is only 200 amp??

would the battery really add that much?

if you fuse according to the size of your equipment you will be ok. like a 200 amp fuse for the 200 amp alt. 150 amp fuse for the 150 amp amp. i know you go by wire, but that method also works. in my last setup i had a 100 amp fuse in my 1/0 guage wire powering a pg tantrum 1200.1 and 500.4.

sorry to jack... but today i replaced this wire in my car. actually, the original battery to alternator wire was stupid and went out of site, so i just added to what was already connected... do i need to fuse this wire or not?

Wouldn't you want to fuse lower than the max rating of the wire?? What I mean is wouldn't you want the fuse to blow before you reach the wire's max rating.??
