Ok so I'm going to install a small system in my other car 06 Mini Cooper S battery is in the rear of the car and I've swapped that out with a XS already. My question is the alternator is up front so do I just run the bigger wire from there to my battery. I've never had a car with the battery inside before " main battery " anyway. I'm also adding a second XS inside the car.

Because of your rear battery setup you already have a wire installed from the factory that can carry over 300 amps of power on it due to it being used to run the starter.

I would upgrade the grounds and keep an eye on voltage.

BTW - 5k and an 18 is not rally a 'small' system.

Haha you caught that. Yes the wire coming in does look pretty beefy, I'd say 2 gauge that's why I wanted to ask.
