I got my legacy amp in today and it BLOWS. my subs dont hit, they pop. unless i did something wrong. but i dont think i did. it sounds like whenever the treble gets too high, the subs just shit out for no reason. if you have any suggestions im open. or if you just want to give me an "i told you so"...(if you do this, at least leave a suggestion)

you guys are harsh. not everybody has money. and those subs aren't terrible. they might not be the loudest or best sounding but i had two of the 12's in a sealed box off of a 801s as a first system and it got pretty loud and sounded ok. they WILL take rated power. i was giving mine just under 500 watts rms each and they took it fine.

When the treble gets too high the subs shit out? What does this mean?

Do you have a lowpass crossover on this set up?

Is the broken sub connected? Does it share the same airspace with the good sub? Are they out of phase? Are both subs blown?

Gains set correctly?

Crossover set correctly?

I have a sneaking suspicion that your the type of guy who wants loud bass and therefore you have every knob turned as far as they can go clockwise as well as the sub out and the bass level on the head unit at 100%.

No offense but I could make some decent bass with your set up. It won't peg the Termlab but still....

ok, not as bad as i expected. no, both subs arnt blown. neither of them are. i hooked them up to my friends amp and they worked fine. no. im also not the guy with all of the knobs all the way up, or the bass on my head unit. its only at a little more than half. i got my old amp fixed so im sure they'll work fine on that amp. they did before. lemme know
