Alright, i need to settle this.

My amp puts out 1100w at 12.5 volt and 1450w at 14.10 volt. I have a high output alt. and i only get 14.10 volts when the engine rev. at 1500rpm and up, under that i get 12.5 volts. MY QUESTION: If i set my gains shooting for 14.10 volts (1450w) doest that mean at idle (12.5volts) i will be sending a clipped signal to my sub ? Thanks

I would guess that you would just be getting less wattage output, why do you think you'd be clipping?

well i thought that, at less volts it would be just like setting the gains too high.

Edit: just thought about what you were saying and i get it now lol, that means that when you're at 12.5 volts you'll be putting out 1450 watts and then even more at 14.1 so yess you'll be clipping. Set it for 12.5, because your car will be idling while you're setting your gains
