What needs to be here?
Ok I need to know just how good crunch amplifiers are. If they are anything worth the money then me and my friend are going to more than likely order one tomorrow cuz he will have the money, and plus I want to hurry up and get this install done before it gets blisteringly cold. If we have to wait and get something else in the power range he needs then we are going to have to wait for about another 2 weeks or so. The Crunch amplifier we were looking at was a Blackmaxx MSB-2200. Here is a link to it from etronics.

PLEASE!!!! Tell us if this would be a good buy to run two Pioneer Premier TS-W125DVC's or not!!!! Need Help fast as possible on this.

oh and what are the subs, as in what ohm. are they Dual voice coil 4 ohm subs or dual voice coil 2 ohm subs. or are they single voice coil 2 ohm or 4 ohm subs. this is important

They are Pioneer TS-W125DVC, 8 ohm or 2 ohms and they need 400rms and the price needs to be under 150 shipped, thats all he has for about the next month or so and weve already got the box built and everything. I also have a ? tho, why are crunch amps so bad? Hifonics and Crunch are made by the same manufacturer, maxxsonics. Man I was really hoping they were worth something so I could get another amp when I get paid for this install but it doesnt look like ill be able to now, I was also looking at a Crunch amplifier being since they are the same manufacturer as Hifonics.

Yea well I found out the reason why Crunch is overrated. Look at their website, http://www.maxxsonics.com and you will see that they rate their amps at 14.4 volts instead of a more realistic number like 13.8 like most charging systems. Allthough im sure if you were to feed them the 14.4v that they are rated at, I bet they would put out what they say. Besides look at the rating on the amp I mentioned above it says 500 watts @2ohms, we only need 400 and even less actually since the box is like 4.5 cubes ported and I believe his electical system would put out about 14 volts so I think it would be pretty good for him. Am I wrong? I mean I just dont see where they could be so bad considering they are the same manufacturer as Hifonics, but ya they are rated at 14.4v instead of 12v or 13.8v. But unless you absolutely disagree then I think we might go with it.

im just telling u its not a quality amplifier. And it will be overrated. The price is so cheap for a reason. It will probly get hot and wont last too long. Just cuz its from the same manufacturer as hifonics doesnt make it a great amp. Its up to u though. It seems like thats the amp u got ur heart set on so go for it.

Alright then it look like were gonna have to go with something else then, oh well, that kinda sux ***. We'll have to wait about another month before he can get an amp but oh well. Thanx Guys.

We were also looking at a lanzar amplifier but I wasnt too sure about them, havent heard very much about them. I know the opti's are good but we dont have that kind of cash, we were thinkin something more along the lines of the viberant or vibe series.

Lanzar's a good amps for the cash. I'm running a Vibe 258 now and have been most of the past summer.

Not even a hint of any issues.

--That's within the Viberant linup too for all those lanzar "haters" crowd.

I have not had any trouble with any of thier newer Opti, Vibe, and Viberant, series amplifiers. Fairly clean circuitry, and mucho versatile.

It appears as if Lanzar is on the right track and making improvements by leaps and bounds compared to thier equipment of a few years ago.

They still rate their amplifiers a bit on the generous side, however, not by a whole lot.

All arround- excellent amp.

take it easy,

-zane

Thanx Zane you are a wonderful person man. Thanx for the info, that just opened me up to some new amplifier choices. I was thinkin of getting a Mono Block Amplifier from lanzar but wasnt too sure of how relieable they were and what kind of power they put out. I guess you could say their in a close 2nd place to budget companies like profile huh?
