Alright for enclosure to drop down into wheel well?

Running low on space in the trunk. Idea came through of building the box as I was going to, but instead drop the floor of the box down into the wheel well. Would that work? Would it be okay that the wheel well is more on the passenger side too, so the right side of the box would technically have more volume? It will be one box for two DC XL 15's with a shared port.
