Best thang smokin'!
I've got an Elemental Designs NiNe.2 bridged to 4ohm and I'm already noticing that my headlights are dimming. It's not really bad, but visible if you're looking for it. I'm looking at running about 1,000w RMS for my next setup but I want to know if I'm really going to have to buy a new battery. Anybody have any experience/opinions/wisdom they'd like to share?

yes----take care of the problem now or you will most likely find your self buying batteries more often then you like. my suggestion is a high output alternator. btw-what type of car do you have?

Did you do the Big 3?
Not yet. I had originally thought my stock electrical system might be able to handle it but as time goes on, I'm starting to realize that's probally not the case.

Can I get away with mixing and matching stock with upgraded? (i.e. HO alt with stock battery or vice versa)

yeah a high output will work fine with stock battery altho you will most likely need to do the big 3 to support it. the good news is that you don't have to remove the old wiring at all just add the big 3.
