Already bought Two US AMPS MD.3D for Two JL 13w7 good choice or bad?

I know that the Jl amp was made for the Jl13w7 but I want to use diffenent amps to see what both amps an subs can do.The amp I am using is the US Amps merlin MD3.3D I am setting it up to do a 3 ohm load at about 1500 to 1600 watts per sub.Some said that still the Jl will sound better even if I am putting more watts.I already bought the amps waiting to get installed soon.Circuitry wise JL or US Amps for this sub. I hope I made right choice!!!!!!!!!!!.All the juice for electrical is taken care.
