Really though, as long as you're cool with the volume knob and set the gains right, it's pretty hard to blow speakers... I'd say nothing over 200w to each side.

 
I've driven mine with many different amps over the last 4 yrs, they've survived a pdx 2x150 and a 300/4 bridged without a problem. They sounded the best with the 300/4 bridged, didn't really like the pdx, it's sitting on my floor in friont of me right now, I don't know if I'll ever use it. To my ears the class d amp doesn't have the range of a class a/b.

 
I mean even with clean wattage you will still be able to hear distortion......just be careful and dont push it too far
QFT. You'll have to with any mids, but the SPX-177R mids can take a beating (compared to what they're rated at, anyway).
