not to thread jack but we all know about to low end capabilities of the type x, but how does it sound at higher hz?

I heard it rolls off really fast after 50hz, but nobody ever specifies what box they have it in, or heck, how their crossovers are set.

Right now i'm at the point where i'm trying to get someone to build me a 4.5 cube 30hz l7 box, and if they can't do it, i'm going with the type-x sealed instead.

I don't understand the point of buying a SUB-woofer and tuning it to 40+ hz other than for competing, but the lowest tuned street bass enclosure for an l7 i can find is 38hz......

Ok, today i found out the amp that i bought is out of stock, and completely discontinued, so now i have a lot more flexibility.

How will the output of 2 12" type-x's sealed with 1000rms each compare to one l7 ported?

I think i'm gonna go with the same amp that hotcarl used with his type-x's, and also use a sealed box, just wondering if i'd be losing any output compared to an l7 with 1000rms in a ported box.

I just installed a 12" L7 a lil while ago, 3.25 ft3 tuned about 35hz and it gets pretty loud I guess but I personally find the SQ lacking. Only one box tried thus far though so I guess I cant count it out completely, then again with the goliath I just gotta keep the sub alive anyhow.

I'm thinking:

2 12" type-x tuned to 30hz with 2.0 cf each with 1000rms each > 1 15" l7 tuned to 38hz with 4.5 cf @ 1000 rms

Anyone disagree?
